OUR VISION

Our vision is to improve the lives of HIV/Aids infected and affected children and adults through treatment, clinics, feeding schemes, counselling, Home-based care, crèches and support groups.

Our Mission

If there has ever been an event in history that has united people across cultural, political and geographical boundaries, it is the AIDS pandemic of the 21st Century. While researchers put all their learning, skill and creativity into finding a cure for this modern day plague - every day, people are still being infected and are dying.

1000 Hills Community Helpers exists to alleviate the suffering of the elderly and children in distress. As society has evolved and new horrors confront children, we have adapted our services to the needs of the community and focus particularly on children and communities impacted by AIDS.

Our mission statement:

We will fight and stand against stigma and discrimination

. We will love and teach our community that together we can make a difference. We commit to the safety and ongoing support for those in our community. We commit to putting those in our community first by uplifting as many individuals as we can.

"I was really touched and inspired by what the mother of 1000 Hills has established...I cannot wait to turn my small helping hand into a greater scale as compared to 1000 Hills Community Helpers"

N. DLADLA

"The creative section where the elderly were painting beautiful pictures brought tears to my eyes... It is not about having, but dedicating your time to do things.. uplifting the lives of the needy"

N. MLOTSHWA

"What Aunty Dawn does is amazing - The thing i liked the most is that she taught skills to the people to help them better their future and whats most amazing is that they do it not to get paid but for the love of what they do. I will donate money because every cent counts"

N. KHANYILE

" Let us touch the dying, the lonely and the unwanted according to the graces we have received and let us not be ashamed or slow to do the humble work as words by Mother Theresa. These sum up what Aunty Dawn is doing to the lives of the people who benefit each day from this organisation"

C. MBEJE

"Before visiting I was not interested in working with the community, but after the visit I have changed. I am willing to help others not to gain something in return, but simply helping"
