1000 HILLS KITCHEN & FEEDING SCHEME

Here at 1000HCH we have a fully operational kitchen that serves up to 1200 meals per day. Two nutritious meals are prepared per day ensuring our children and community are well fed. Our greatest thanks goes to our wonderful kitchen staff who so lovingly prepare these meals. We have a wonderful team. We are so blessed. We also have an after school care programme where we feed the children of the community. A healthy and nutritious meal is prepared and the children are sent home with sandwiches and fruit. Not only does our feeding scheme full hungry tummies, it too helps those who are Infected with HIV/AIDS as we ensure those individuals are well looked after and eating the correct way.

A massive thank you to KFC ADD HOPE for your continued support in the running of our kitchen and feeding scheme.

"Your R2 fills children with hope, so they can learn, grow and thrive."

1000 HILLS SKILLS DEVELOPMENT PROGRAMME

Our Skills Development Centre has become a hub of hope for many in the community to use their time in a constructive way. Every Monday and Wednesday we run our classes, where we teach sewing, fabric painting and making of crafts. The items made by the community are then sold in our craft shop and a portion of the sales goes back to the community members, giving them the opportunity to be entrepreneurs.

Many hours goes into making these beautiful crafts which our community is so proud of. If you are interested in visiting our craft shop or wish to order any products please feel free to contact us for more information.

You can also check out our 1000 Hills Craft Page on our website for a closer look into what we make.

1000 HILLS COMMUNITY HELPERS SOCIAL DEVELOPMENT

We at 1000 Hills continue to work closely with the department of social development on HIV and AIDS programmes. We have 29 community care givers (CCG'S) and 4 supervisors who are receiving a monthly stipend from the department. The CCG'S work 5 days a week doing community outreach home-visits, identifying orphans and vulnerable children, assisting those who are sick or in need of a community care giver. Each CCG is entitled to do 3 home visits per day resulting to 15  home visits a month each. The CCG'S meet at the centre monthly where they submit their monthly reports to the department of education.

We are pleased to say that the department is giving  us 20 monthly food parcels to give to the destitute families and vulnerable children as well as school uniforms and monthly contributions to our expenses.
